A
surprisingly low-brow thriller from director Steven Soderbergh, about a young woman suffering from depression, given an experimental drug by her doctor which has unexpected side effects which
throw both their lives into turmoil.
Rooney Mara proves, as in other films released around the same
time, that she has the potential to be a very strong leading lady when given a good script to work with. Jude Law & Channing Tatum are also quite impressive, Catherine Zeta-Jones, however, is
simply unpleasant, both as a character and as an actress.
Overall, this is nowhere near as good as Soderbergh's other
work, but still worth a one-off watch.
