Arguably Jean Claude Van Damme's best martial arts
He plays a deserter from the Foreign Legion who becomes a
bare knuckle fighter on the streets of America to raise money for his brother's family after he is attacked in a violent assault.
Like similar films of the genre, it doesn't have much by
way of brains, but makes up for it with plenty of brawn and the occasional dosage of sentimentality.
The fight scenes are very well choreographed and directed,
making up for the Muscles From Brussels' lack of acting skills.
The film is also known as "Leon", or "Wrong Bet".
Seemingly the production company had to market it differently in each country it was released.
